Preserve semen for 10-12 days and dilute samples for analysis with the MB Chill Extender!

Information and Protocols:

Semen can be stored for up to 12 days when mixed with extender and kept at 4 degrees celsius.
Only the “sperm rich” second fraction of ejaculate should be kept and mixed with extender for storage and subsequent insemination.

Sperm samples should be analyzed for a minimum of 70% initial motility and also for concentration and morphology before storage or insemination to ensure suitability. This can be done quickly and efficiently using an iSperm unit or similar.

MB 10 Extender should be stored at 4-7 degrees celsius and brought up to room temperature prior to mixing with fresh semen.

Stored, chilled semen should be brought up to room temperature and re-analyzed before vaginal insemination.
