The Siemens ACUSON P500 is a high-end portable ultrasound system designed to deliver outstanding diagnostic imaging in paediatric cardiology and abdominal examinations. Compact yet powerful, the P500 offers advanced imaging technologies typically found in larger cart-based systems, making it an excellent choice for clinics, outpatient departments, and specialist centres requiring high-quality cardiac and general ultrasound imaging.

This system provides exceptional colour flow Doppler and spectral Doppler performance, enabling clinicians to assess cardiac structures and haemodynamics with clarity and precision. Images and cine loops are automatically saved in DICOM format, ensuring seamless integration with hospital PACS systems and reporting software. Files can also be exported in AVI format for easy review on standard computers, and anonymised quickly when preparing teaching material or case presentations.

The P500 enables clinicians to utilise advanced echocardiographic techniques, including methods such as Proximal Isovelocity Surface Area (PISA) for detailed cardiac evaluation. Historically, systems capable of these advanced measurements were confined to large hospital environments due to their size and cost. The portable P500 brings this level of imaging capability to a much wider range of clinical settings.
