Here at PortableUltrasoundMachines (PUM), we reinvest heavily in R&D, constantly improving our products and portfolio. Most of our customers come back to us time and time again as their skill level and businesses grow, trusting us to always have the very best equipment for their budgets – and the knowledge to support them in getting the most out of it.

It’s a responsibility we take seriously, and earlier this week, we travelled to Frankfurt to meet with like-minded people who are as dedicated to ultrasound as we are: among them; two veterinarians, three sonographers, and an electronics engineer with a specialist interest signal processing.

We spent the day optimising machines on the livers, spleens, kidneys and hearts of three different sizes of dog – B-mode, colour, PW and CW Doppler. It’s the first time we have worked live with a team of engineers dialled directly into the system, changing settings and code as we gave our feedback.

We are well aware that no other company in the UK invests in ultrasound in the way that we do, with all others reselling “off the shelf” solutions rather than customising, optimising or building them themselves, so it was particularly refreshing for us to meet other European companies who are working just as hard we are.
